There is no way to know how big Saturday night's come-from-behind Bruins win over Atlanta will have on this team going forward.

But looking at it another way, consider where the B's would be had they NOT come back from an 0-2 deficit and managed to beat the Thrashers, thanks to a four-point game from Milan Lucic.

A loss Saturday night would have meant the Bruins would have been on a four-game losing streak as they headed to western Canada for three games in four nights -- in Edmonton Monday night, Vancouver Tuesday and Calgary Thursday.

By winning, the B's raised their record for the season to 3-2-3. They also won for the first time in three home games as they open the season with eight of the first 11 away from the TD Banknorth Garden.

BRUINS 5, THRASHERS 4: The Bruins, who blew a 2-0 lead and lost to Toronto two nights earlier, trailed by the same score after the first period Saturday night.

Then Milan Lucic took over.

The big left winger, wearing contact lenses for the second consecutive game, had his first multi-goal game, recording a hat trick -- the winner with 1:41 left -- and adding an assist as the B's came back to win what could be a very big game.

"It's always nice when you can contribute a few goals," Lucic said. "The first period we knew we had to do something to turn it around. It was easy to point fingers and get down on ourselves. It was good. The comeback we had wasn't our prettiest one, but we got the job done and I'm happy I could contribute to that."

Stephane Yelle (his first goal as a Bruin) and David Krejci also scored, and defenseman Dennis Wideman had two assists.
