--G Tim Thomas earned the ninth shutout of his NHL career and his second 1-0 blanking in as many nights when he beat Vancouver. He is 3-1-2 on the season. This was Thomas's second start against the Canucks in his career and both have been shutouts.

--LW Milan Lucic played his first NHL game in his native Vancouver, with an estimated 100 family and friends on hand. "It's an exciting feeling," he said before playing a robust game. "It's going to be really nice to play against them and have my family and friends here watching."

The last time Lucic played in Vancouver, he was the MVP in the Memorial Cup. His championship ring was stolen and he was presented a new one by the Vancouver Giants after the Tuesday-morning skate.

--D Zdeno Chara still hasn't scored a goal.

--C Marc Savard hasn't scored a goal in seven games but has four assists in the last three. He has at least one point in six of the seven road games. Savard was the extra attacker during a delayed penalty and set up the only goal of Tuesday's game.

--RW Michael Ryder scored his first goal since the opener.

--LW Marco Sturm has no goals in six games, one on the season.

--C Patrice Bergeron has one goal in 10 games.

--D Matt Hunwick was a healthy scratch for the sixth straight game.

--F Vladimir Sobotka sat out again as the Bruins went with the same lineup as Monday.

--RW Chuck Kobasew, out with a broken ankle, is on the trip and skating, but it doesn't look like he'll play on the trip. He has been out since earning two assists in the opener. Kobasew has suffered broken bones in his legs in his last two meaningful games.
