GOALTENDERS: Manny Fernandez, Tim Thomas.

DEFENSEMEN: Zdeno Chara, Aaron Ward, Dennis Wideman, Andrew Ference, Mark Stuart, Shane Hnidy.

FIRST LINE: Milan Lucic, Marc Savard, Phil Kessel.

SECOND LINE: P.J. Axelsson, Patrice Bergeron, Michael Ryder.

THIRD LINE: Marco Sturm, David Krejci, Blake Wheeler.

FOURTH LINE: Shawn Thornton, Stephane Yelle, Chuck Kobasew.

--G Manny Fernandez improved his record to 4-1-1 with Thursday night's 6-1 win over the Canadiens.

--C Stephane Yelle matched his career high of two goals and his personal best of three points in the win. It was part of a seven-point night for the Bruins' fourth line, with LW Shawn Thornton scoring his first goal of the season and adding an assist and Chuck Kobasew posting two assists.

--LW Shawn Thornton has been dealing with the recent death of his grandmother, leaving the team earlier in the week and rejoining his teammates Wednesday night in Chicago. "It was a rough week but I had three days off dealing with the family stuff so I felt pretty good out there tonight," he said. "Everything happens for a reason. I'm sure her Irish eyes are smiling tonight."

--LW Marco Sturm continued his hot streak with two goals Thursday night. Sturm, who scored 27 goals last season, has five goals and two assists during the club's five-game winning streak.

--LW Milan Lucic had an active night. He scored his first goal in eight games since his Oct. 25 hat trick and also pounded Michael Komisarek in a third-period fight.

--D Shane Hnidy returned from a three-game absence caused by a lower-body injury and was plus-3 while logging 13:34.

--LW Milan Lucic cut his hand in a fight with Michael Komisarek. "I'll be fine," he said. "(X-rays are) negative, but there's so many broken bones in there from before you can't really tell."

--D Andrew Ference took an Andrei Markov slapper off the skate late in the second period and didn't return. "He's fine. He's being evaluated," said coach Claude Julien. "Hopefully it's just something minor."
